Inaugural Pan Pacific Congress held in Gold Coast, Australia

The first Congress that led to the formation of PAQS.

Five Members agree to form PAQS

AIQS, HKIS, BSIJ, NZIQS and SISV agreed to form PAQS.

1996

May 23, 1996

2nd Annual PAQS meeting held at Marriot Hotel in Hong Kong

The organisations present at the 2nd meeting were HKIS (QSD), SISV (Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers), AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) and NZIQS (New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors). A representative from Malaysia was also present while the Japanese sent their apologies for absence.

Draft Constitution prepared by NZIQS accepted for establishing PAQS

The constitution draft was accepted as the foundation for the organization.
Jan 1, 1996

Prof Dennis Lenard (AIQS) appointed 1st PAQS Chairman

Professor Dennis Lenard from Australia became the first chairman of PAQS.

1997

May 12-16, 1997

1st Congress held in Singapore

The first official PAQS Congress was held in Singapore. Institute of Surveyors Malaysia (ISM) accepted as PAQS member.

RISM (previously the ISM) admitted as Full Member

The Malaysian institution became a full member of PAQS.

Protocols for Congresses, Professional Standards and Professional Working Groups presented

Important protocols and standards were established for the organization.

1998

2nd Congress held in Queenstown, New Zealand

The second Congress took place in New Zealand.

The official PAQS logo was approved by the board.
