PAQS-RC22-1-International Digitalization Study (Questionnaire)

Dear Sir/Madam,

Greetings from Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) Research Committee.

As a key party involved in construction projects, quantity surveyors (QS) continue to deliver high value-added services to clients by providing valuable contributions to costs and construction contracts.  In the present technology era, the construction industry has transformed from traditional practices to new practices via various information and communication technologies (ICT) and digital technologies.  This phenomenon, known as digitalization, is crucial for improving the effectiveness of current QS practices and enhancing professional competence, and has potential to alter the current QS practices.

To propose more advanced digitalization practices for QS, this research wishes to collaborate with Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) country members for knowledge sharing.  The Research Committee is conducting a study of the digitalization practices in quantity surveying firms across the PAQS member countries.  This study is to determine the nature and extent of the adoption of digitalization practices by QS firms among the PAQS countries, which covers the availability, functions, performance and cost of the software in the construction industry.

In order to achieve the above objectives, valuable comment from QS is indispensable.  I would be grateful if you could support this research by completing the enclosed questionnaire via https://forms.gle/q8htxvaxZtEjaebSA.  The questionnaire will take approximately 20 minutes.  I would appropriate if the questionnaire can be completed within 2 weeks.  Please note that all information collected from this study will be kept strictly confidential and used for academic purposes only.  Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Chan by phone (+852-6357-5888) and/or email (kcchan527-c@my.cityu.edu.hk).

Thank you for your valuable time and contribution to this research.
